Tour overview

This amazing Iceland tour package combines 6 nights exploring Reykjavik with a 4-night guided tour.

On the first day you will tackle to the famous Golden Circle route to witness the active geothermal area Geysir, the golden waterfall Gullfoss and Thingvellir – a UNESCO World Heritage site where the old Icelandic parliament was gathering inside the rift between Eurasian and American tectonic plates. Just before heading to your cozy accommodation on the South Coast you will stop at the colorful Kerid Volcanic Crater.

For the next two days your adventure continues along the South Coast, where you will discover stunning waterfalls, lava fields, black sand beaches and famous Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon. During these days there are two very exiting activities planned – a Blue Ice Glacier Walk on Solheimajokull Glacier and an amphibian boat tour among icebergs at the Jokulsarlon glacier Lagoon. Remember to keep a look out for the seals swimming around you and resting on the ice.

You will also visit the river canyon at Fjadrargljufur – an astonishing place, a winding green gorge about a hundred meters deep and nearly two kilometers long. Then you will go back to Reykjavik for one night.

The final two days of the tour take place in the West of Iceland and on the Snaefellsnes peninsula. The Snaefellsnes peninsula, listed on Lonely Planet TOP 10 Regions in World 2015, is a fairy-tale land full of beautiful cliffs, charming fishing villages, fjords, wildlife, volcanic landscapes and craters combined with stunning waterfalls and mountains. The Borgarfjordur area is in the opinion of many Icelanders the most beautiful countryside in Iceland. Among the highlights during these days are a caving expedition inside Vidgelmir, the biggest known lava tunnel in Iceland.

On top of this is a night to explore the Northern Lights from Reykjavik and sail away from the coastline for a special Northern Lights boat tour. Keep in mind, the northern lights are a natural phenomenon and sightings cannot be guaranteed, but if you don’t get to see the coloured skies on an evening tour, you’ll be booked on the same tour on another night for FREE!

There is a speaker system on board so you are welcome to wait inside our cafeteria enjoying a warm drink or watching our own Northern Lights video. When the guide sees the lights, they will announce it on the speaker system so everyone knows to head outside and look up!  Our friendly crew takes photos on every tour that are available to download in the following days at no extra charge. DAY 9

Blue Lagoon and Northern Lights Tour

Rejuvenate your body and soul on this combination of two most popular winter activities, a visit to the Blue Lagoon and joining a northern lights tour!

An Afternoon at the Blue Lagoon:

Start your afternoon by visiting Iceland's most famous attraction, the Blue Lagoon. The Blue Lagoon is one of Iceland's most famous tourist attractions and considered by many to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, as well as an unmissable part of one's visit to Iceland.

The Blue Lagoon offers lava and moss filled scenery, state of the art facilities, a unique atmosphere and silica masks that make your skin extra firm, yet incredibly soft!  Included in this combo is the Blue Lagoon Comfort Package where you receive entrance to the Blue Lagoon, silica mud mask, use of a towel, and a drink of your choice. After an amazing warm soak in the geothermal waters of the Blue Lagoon, you head back to Reykjavik on one of our new and comfortable coaches, offering you free Wi-Fi.

An Evening of Northern Lights:

The Northern Lights Tour in Iceland takes you to see a spectacular natural phenomenon that happens during the winter months. The northern lights, also known as Aurora Borealis, are caused by the interaction of particles from the sun with the upper atmosphere near the North Pole. The locations visited during the northern lights tour vary from day to day depending on weather conditions. Our northern lights team studies thoroughly the weather and aurora forecasts in order to find the best location each night to spot the lights. Because this tour is weather dependent, sightings are not guaranteed. However, if you don‘t see any northern lights during this tour, you are welcome to join the tour again, free of charge.  Meals: Breakfast

DAY 10

Northern Lights Small Group Tour

Enjoy a day at leisure.  This evening you will enjoy the Northern Lights small group tour. The northern lights, also known as the aurora borealis, are caused by collisions between particles from the sun with the upper atmosphere near the North Pole. In Iceland they are visible during the winter months, from late August to April, and appear in many different forms and colours although light green and pink are the most common. Why join a guided tour to see the northern lights in Iceland?  Our northern lights team studies thoroughly the weather and aurora forecast in order to find the best location each night to spot the lights. While the lights can often be seen from the city, they are never as clear or magnificent when polluted by the city lights. Getting a warm ride to the best possible site for sightings is well worth it. The northern lights are an unforgettable sight to witness and should be enjoyed in the best possible conditions. This is a classic northern lights tour but in a smaller group. That means you get more time with your expert guide for assistance on photography and facts. Meals: Breakfast

DAY 11

Depart Iceland

Today, it’s time to make your way to the airport to board your onward flights. Meals: Breakfast

More about Iceland

The Nordic island nation of Iceland has recently become one of the world's hottest tourist destinations. In part, because of its remote allure and remarkable landscapes, but also thanks to the popularity of the Game of Thrones series that was filmed here. Renowned as the land of fire and ice, due to it having some of Europe's biggest glaciers and the world's most active volcanoes, it's really the natural wonders that are the star of show in Iceland. Admire the stunning waterfalls of Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss, visit Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon, drive along the Golden Route or time it right to see the spectacular Northern Lights.
