Canada and Alaska Trip Overview

This special Alaska cruise and Canada tour package is simply spectacular!

Begin in Vancouver, where you’ll board the 7-night cruise aboard Ruby Princess. Witness amazing views and wildlife as you sail through the magical Inside Passage to Juneau, Alaska’s remote capital. Then dock at Skagway, the small town that’s big on adventure with options to go hiking, kayaking, wildlife watching or travel by train to White Pass.

A highlight will be the scenic cruising in Endicott Arm, a narrow 30-mile-long fjord that’s part of the Tracy Arm-Fords Terror Wilderness Area. Here offers a breathtaking experience for passengers to view Dawes Glacier and the mammoth rivers of ice. Sail past evergreen-clad cliffs and floating frozen “bergy bits” on this scenic voyage. Final stop is a beauty, in the culturally-rich town of Ketchikan, with its towering totem parks and fun lumberjack show.

Upon returning to Vancouver, join the Canadian Rockies coach tour and ascend the Coastal Mountains and travel to the interior of British Columbia. Overnight in Jasper and then travel along the breathtaking Icefields Parkway to take in spectacular mountain scenery. Enjoy two nights in the famous resort town of Banff, with a day trip to Lake Louise and picturesque Moraine Lake.

With the easy of cruising and escorted touring, don’t miss your chance to see the USA’s and Canada’s remarkable landscapes in one unbeatable package!

DAY 8

Cruise arrives in Vancouver

Your Alaska cruise arrives back in Vancouver this morning and make your way to your downtown hotel. Vancouver, a bustling west coast seaport in British Columbia, is among Canada’s densest, most ethnically diverse cities. A popular filming location, it’s surrounded by mountains, and also has thriving art, theatre and music scenes. Vancouver Art Gallery is known for its works by regional artists, while the Museum of Anthropology houses preeminent First Nations collections. The remainder of the day is free to explore.

DAY 9

Vancouver to Jasper Scenic Drive

Start your Vancouver to Rockies tour with a scenic drive through the charming farming communities of the Fraser Valley with a memorable photo stop in the quintessential town of Hope. As you continue, you’ll ascend into the majestic Coastal Mountains and follow the picturesque Coquihalla Highway to Kamloops. After the lunch break, you’ll retrace the historic route of the famous Overlanders, following the course of the North Thompson River to Jasper. Along the way, you’ll have a stop to marvel at the spectacular Mount Robson, which is British Columbia’s tallest peak. Overnight in Jasper.

DAY 10

Jasper to Banff Sightseeing

Start your morning with a refreshing hike (optional) through the Maligne Canyon, a remarkable limestone gorge adorned with six narrow bridges and picturesque waterfalls. Continuing our journey south along the magnificent Icefield Parkway, often hailed as one of the most beautiful highways in the world, we will explore its must-see attractions, including Athabasca Falls, Peyto Lake, and Crowfoot Glacier. At the Columbia Icefield, ride the Ice Explorer on Athabasca Glacier or visit the Glacier Skywalk (both activities are subject to weather conditions). Overnight in Banff. [B]

DAY 11

Banff & Lake Louise Sightseeing

Prepare yourself for another exhilarating day of sightseeing and activities in Banff National Park. As we make our way to Lake Louise, we will pause at Johnston Canyon for a leisurely hike (optional) along the trail that guides us to the breathtaking Lower Falls. While at Lake Louise, you’ll find numerous viewpoints offering splendid photo opportunities of the majestic Victoria Glacier towering over the lake. In the afternoon, our adventure continues as we explore other notable attractions in the Rockies, including Moraine Lake, Banff Springs Hotel and Bow Falls. Don’t forget to take advantage of the gondola ride up Sulphur Mountain (weather permitting) for a breathtaking panoramic view of Banff town and its surrounding or Upper Hot Springs for a soothing soak in the hot, mineral-rich water. Overnight in Banff [B]

DAY 12

Banff to Vancouver Scenic Drive

Heading west, your journey will take you across the Continental Divide, which serves as the geographical boundary separating waters flowing to the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. As you make your way towards Rogers Pass, the highest point in the Canadian Rockies, keep an eye out for the fascinating Spiral Tunnels. These tunnels are a remarkable achievement in railway engineering, strategically designed to navigate the steep gradient of the mountains and facilitate the safe passage of trains. Arrive in downtown Vancouver in the evening. [B] Overnight Barclay Hotel Vancouver or similar.

DAY 13

Depart Vancouver

Check out of your Vancouver hotel this morning. Make your way to the airport by taxi if you're flying out today. We hope you have had a wonderful holiday.

More about Canada

Extending from the Atlantic to the Pacific, the Arctic Ocean to the north and United States to the south, Canada is as diverse as it is spectacular. Would it surprise you to know that with a landmass of 9.1 million square kilometres, Canada is the second-largest country in the world behind Russia? It's true, and equally genuine is how much fun travellers can have exploring its many highlights. From the charming cities of Quebec and Ottawa in the east, as well as iconic Niagara Falls, to the east where you'll find cosmopolitan Vancouver and the world-famous Rocky Mountains with beautiful Banff National Park.

More about United States

The world is fascinated by America's famous culture and curious celebrities, but any traveller will tell you that there's so much more to the amazing United States. Head east for renowned attractions like historic Philadelphia, the Florida Everglades, Washington DC and New York City. Through central USA you'll find famous Mount Rushmore Memorial and Badlands National Park, as well as the carnival town of New Orleans in the south. The west coast boasts other great highlights in Seattle, multicultural San Francisco, the movie mecca of Hollywood and San Diego, for a south-of-the-border vibe. This is the tiniest taste of what you can expect to discover and enjoy in the good old U.S of A!
