Arrive in Cape Town, where you begin with city sightseeing and tours of Table Mountain tour and the Cape Peninsula. After a quick internal flight to Durban, swap the city for an extraordinary cruise on St Lucia Estuary, home to Nile crocodiles, hippopotami, sea turtles and even sharks.

Arrive in Cape Town, undeniably one of the most beautiful cities in the world. As you make your  own way to the hotel, you’ll see the towering symbol of the city - Table Mountain. The rest of the day is at leisure in this magnificent seaside city

After an orientation meeting with your Tour Manager, depart on a half day Cape Town city and Table Mountain tour. Drive past famous landmarks such as the Castle of Good Hope, City Hall, the Grand Parade, and St. George's Cathedral. The route then leads to Kloof Nek and Table Mountain. Ascend to the top (weather permitting) by means of a cable car.* Later, descend and proceed to the Milnerton Lighthouse. Afterward, you will have the opportunity to learn the three-billion-year-old story of diamonds while touring the prominent Shimansky Jewellers. Following the tour (or for those who do not wish to participate) stroll through the V & A Shopping Mall before returning to your hotel. Conclude the day with dinner
*Table Mountain Aerial Cableway closes for annual maintenance in July & August. Exact dates will be advised in early 2023.

Depart on a full day Cape Peninsula Tour with lunch along the way. After a stop at the fishing village of Hout Bay, continue to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. After lunch, follow the coastline along False Bay and stop in Simon's Town to visit the penguin colonies at Boulders Beach. Lastly, visit the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens before arriving to Cape Town. Tonight, experience local culture at the optional Traditional African Dinner Experience for an evening of live performances and African gastronomy before returning to the hotel

This morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Durban. Upon arrival in the early afternoon, drive to St. Lucia. Later, embark on a game viewing cruise that takes you on the St. Lucia Estuary. After an early breakfast, travel to the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve, situated in northern KwaZulu Natal, which is famous for its conservation of black and white rhinos. Home to Africa's "Big Five." You may have a chance to see elephant, Cape buffalo, lion, leopard, and rhino during your morning game drive through the reserve. Following the safari, continue to the border of the Kingdom of eSwatini,* an independent kingdom within the borders of South Africa. Stop at a handicraft market this afternoon before arriving at your hotel in the early evening
*eSwatini is an independent country from South Africa and therefore has different entry requirements. Non-US passport holders are responsible to check if a visa is required for eSwatini in addition to all other countries on their itinerary

After breakfast visit the Ngwenya glass factory, where visitors can watch glass blowers create a range of African animals, and tableware made from recycled glass that is collected by the children of eSwatini. Transfer to the South African border and visit Matsamo Cultural Village where you can learn more about the Swati traditions and customs. Enjoy traditional Swati cuisine along with dance and song performances. Later, continue to the hotel in time for dinner

Today, a pre-packed breakfast will be provided for you. Then, on to Kruger National Park for a full day open-vehicle game drive. Depart after breakfast, on a long drive today. Travel via Konwyn Pass, offering spectacular views over the Lowveld and visit the 213-foot Mac Mac Waterfall in the Mac-Mac Forest Nature Reserve. Proceed to the historic logging town of Sabie, once a gold mining town, it now relies on forestry. Admire spectacular views of mountain passes and continue the drive, past the small town of Waterval Boven, nestled in the Drakensberg Mountains on the way to Johannesburg. Arrive late afternoon, and check into your hotel

DAY 10


Depart on a half day tour of Soweto. Drive by the former residence of Bishop Desmond Tutu and visit Nelson Mandela's former home. Continue to the Apartheid Museum, where you will journey through the racial segregation experienced by millions of South Africans. Cap off the day with dinner tonight

Children under 12 years of age are not permitted on open vehicle game drives in Kruger National Park.

Please note, all passport holders should have four or more entirely blank (unstamped) visa pages in their passport when travelling to South Africa, Zimbabwe, and eSwatini.

Is this tour right for you?

This active program covers a good amount of ground each day. Expect from three to four hours walking on some touring days. The pace is moderate, however you will encounter some uneven surfaces, stairs, steps and significant slopes. A few early wake-ups are required. There are two long days spent on the coach between eSwatini and Hazyview, as well as between Hazyview and Johannesburg. For your comfort, several stops will be made along the way including a lunch break.

While the majority of the tour will be performed in an air-conditioned motor coach, game drives will be conducted in small safari vehicles that cannot be air-conditioned. While the majority of South Africa is malaria-free, visitors to Kruger National Park are encouraged to consult their health-care providers regarding malaria prophylaxis. We suggest you check with your health-care provider before signing up for this tour. During this tour, you may come into proximity of wild animals whose actions can be unpredictable. Certain inherent risks are involved which should be considered at your own discretion.
