Cruise overview
Fly from Australia to Tokyo to begin the cruise. If you have time, our recommendation is to pre-book a hotel stay and arrive early to have longer to explore the bustling city, with its diverse neighbourhoods, fantastic shopping, amazing restaurants and neon-bright architecture that’s flanked by tranquil gardens.
Awarded ‘Best Cruise Line in Asia,’ Princess Cruises will be your guide to the colours, cultures and flavours that define Japan. The 18-night voyage takes you north to Aomori Prefecture, then Sakata, that’s famous for its well-preserved cultural history and one of the country’s biggest sake breweries.
Next port of call is Kanazawa, a city of artists and craftsmen. Following is the small fishing port of Sakaiminato. Renowned for superb seafood, it is also the gateway to the ancient region of Honshu and west of the city is Izumo-taisha, one of the oldest and holiest shrines in Shinto. Explore Busan, the second-largest city in South Korea, then learn of Nagasaki’s confronting history and see why today it’s described as the San Francisco of Japan.
After a day to explore Tokyo, cruise to Shimizu, one of Japan’s most beautiful ports because of nearby Mt. Fuji. Then head south to Osaka, where you won’t want to miss seeing the beautiful castle. Spend a day in Kochi and experience the unforgettable city of Hiroshima. Cruise west to Jeju Island for another stop in South Korea. This fishing port is a great base for exploring the island’s treasures, from beaches to a Buddhist temple that was founded in 1908 by a female monk. Make another final stop in Nagasaki before it’s time to return to Tokyo.

Important to remember...
The day-by-day tour descriptions in the itinerary are intended as an indicative guide only. Travel by nature is unpredictable. Weather patterns, ocean conditions, road accessibility, public holidays, travel restrictions and a multitude of other factors may necessitate itinerary changes that are ultimately for the client's benefit. It is essential that travellers are flexible and open minded in this regard.

New safety measures and greater peace of mind.
The wellbeing and safety of our passengers and staff is always a priority, especially as we adjust to a new world for travellers. My Travel Experience is committed to ensuring your peace of mind with customer-friendly booking practices and enhanced health and safety standards on our trips.
We work closely with tour operators that have received the Safe Travels stamp by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), which enables travellers to recognise companies around the world that have adopted health and hygiene global standardised protocols.
Safe travel requirements:
Local authorities, airlines and cruise companies may have travel requirements in place, such as travellers being fully vaccinated, testing negative for Covid-19 prior to travel, the wearing of masks and social distancing requirements.
It's important that you familiarise yourself with any restrictions and requirements prior to travel, as it's your responsibility to comply with local requirements and guidelines.
We recommend you check these before arriving at the airport. If you're transiting through other destinations during your trip, check on any local requirements at each transit destination and confirm any specific requirements for onward travel with your airline.
Only get tested through verified official testing centres. Scammers are taking advantage of travellers by charging for fake tests. If you're unsure where to get tested, contact the local health authority for advice.
If you've had the COVID-19 vaccine, you should carry your vaccination certificate, along with any negative PCR test results, especially if you have one or more transit stops. Some destinations may ask for proof of testing and vaccination before allowing you to transit through or cross their border.
Guidelines are subject to change as the global situation evolves. The enforcement of certain measures (i.e. covid testing, social distancing, mask-wearing etc.) will vary in different regions. It's your responsibility to check with local health authorities for best practices in their region.
